Lunga House

Lunga House is situated between Oban and Lochgilphead in Argyll. The nearest village is Craobh Haven. The house and estate have been in the MacDougall family for 3 centuries but are now leased to the very friendly and helpful Meg and Les Macleod who let it out as a guest house and wedding venue. We think it's a beautiful house in a stunning setting so look foward to welcoming all our guests there for our wedding in June.

We have taken the house for the whole weekend and will fill it with our families and wedding party. A bus will be running from Dalmally to Lunga House via Oban on the day of the wedding and will be able to pick up guests. Please let us know if you'd like the bus to pick you up and drop you off.

Ideally we'd like to have the wedding in the gardens, however, with Argyll's notorious weather we'd be foolish to bank on this so will revert to plan B in the event of unclement weather and have the wedding in the house.

Getting to and from Lunga House

As you can see from this map our chosen wedding venue though beautiful is fairly remote. Depending on where you are coming from the easiest way to get there is probably via Glasgow.

Lunga House is probably a good 2hrs-2.5hrs drive from Glasgow airport. The buses and trains take considerably longer so if you're coming into Glasgow airport the quickest and easiest way is hiring a car and driving up.

Car Hire in Glasgow

Glasgow airport like most aiports has quite a few car hire companies to choose from, Budget quite often work out pretty reasonable.

Buses

There are buses from Glasgow to Oban and Lochgilphead run by Scottish City Link/West Coast Motors. Then another service that runs between Oban and Lochgilphead that passes through Craobh Haven.

Trains

The nearest railway station is in Oban (about 25 miles away). There are four trains per day in each direction from Glasgow to Oban except on Sundays when there are only two - Train Timetable.

Wedding day

As mentioned above we have organised for a coach to take people to the wedding venue on the day of the wedding. It will start off in Dalmally (A85) and head to Lunga House Via Oban, so can pick anyone up on that route. The coach will run at about lunchtime to take guests to the wedding then will also pick up evening guests before returning guests home after midnight (bus times will appear here once confirmed).
